On 16 August, the team of Axis Technologies completed construction of the first plant module of Hella, the German concern. The industrial and administrative facility with an area of 11 square metres was erected on an 8.9 ha territory of the Kaunas Free Economic Zone within only 9 months.

“The ever accelerating pace of life does not outpace our sector. Aside from high quality of work and efficient solutions, the period of implementation of the project becomes utterly important as well. The complex construction of the electronic components plant completed within a record-break time proves that we are ready to face this market requirement. We are proud to contribute to the start of activities of this ambitious customer in Lithuania,” said Paulius Arštikys, CEO of Axis Technologies.

Axis Technologies was the general contractor of this project, while Veikmės Statyba, another member of Axis Industries, was in charge of construction.

This is the first of the four modules of Hella Lithuania plant. There are future plans for expansion. It is expected to add another three manufacturing modules (21 thousand sq m) and the administrative building (12 thousand sq m). This complex will be used to manufacture the automotive industry sensors, gears and control devices and their constituents. The first manufacturing line alone will produce 1 mln circuit chips per year.

Hella is the German company designing and manufacturing electronic and lighting solutions for the automotive industry, and is one of 40 largest suppliers of vehicle parts. The concern has nearly 40 thousand employees in its branches in 35 countries worldwide. In 2017-2018, the sales proceeds of the Hella group amounted to 7.1 billion euro.
